SHAUKAT OMAR MEMORIAL HOSPITAL (FAUJI FOUNDATION), KARACHI

The Hospital was founded by Dr. Qudsia Shaukat Omer, in an area that is now known as Shah Faisal Colony, then a part of the urban outskirts typical of an expanding Karachi. She started with 20-beds, a small laboratory and an X-ray machine in 1960 and named it Shaukat Omar Memorial Hospital in the memory of her late husband. In March 1979 Dr. Qudsia donated the hospital to Fauji Foundation.

 

Today SOMH (FF) Karachi is a 195-bed facility spread over an area of 4 acres. The hospital provides health care facilities in the field of Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Paediatrics, Cardiology, Dermatology, Dentistry, Radiology, Pathology, Physiotherapy, Anaesthesia, Psychology and Psychiatry.

 

On the average, about 471 indoor and 9,097 outdoor Beneficiary patients use the facility every month. During the year 2015-16, 5,649 Indoor and 1,09,158 outdoor patients were treated. Since inception, approximately 3.86 million patients have been treated at this hospital.

 

The upgradation programme started in 2005 was completed in 2007 at a cost of over Rs. 31.66 million. The departments of Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics/Neo-natal care and Physiotherapy were raised and the bed strength increased from 150 to 195.

 

FAUJI FOUNDATION HOSPITAL, PESHAWAR

Fauji Foundation Hospital Peshawar was established in May 1982, initially for outdoor patients only. Later on, 30 beds (15 each for male & female) were added during February 1983. Today, it is a 150 beds facility. The hospital has been recognized for house-job training in Surgery and Medicine by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council in September 2002. The hospital has lately attained the status of teaching hospital for affiliation with Pakistan International Medical College, Peshawar.

 

The hospital is extending treatment in the fields of Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, ENT, Gynecology, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Dentistry, Radiology, Pathology, Anaesthesia, Psychology, Psychiatry and physiotheraphy. The hospital is running mobile dispensary services to some villages around Peshawar.

 

It is providing health care to approximately 615 indoor and 11,423 outdoor patients per month. During the year 2015-16, 7,378 indoor, 1,36,232 outdoor patients and 840 patients in Mobile Health Clinics were treated. Since inception, the hospital has provided health care services to about 4.27 million patients.

 

FAUJI FOUNDATION HOSPITAL, LAHORE

The hospital started functioning in December 2001 with a bed capacity of 125. It is now a 170 beds facility, spread over an area of 6.5 acres. The area of Beneficiary dependence for specialized treatment extends from Jhelum in the north, to Sadiqabad in the south, which encompasses a sizeable bulk of the Punjab Beneficiaries. The hospital is recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council for house job training in Medicine and Surgery. The hospital has lately attained the status of teaching hospital for affiliation with Shalamar Medical and Dental College/Hospital Lahore.

 

This hospital provides treatment in the fields of Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dentistry, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Radiology, Pathology, Psychology, Physiotheraphy and Anaesthesia. The hospital also shuttles mobile dispensaries for the Beneficiaries in the surrounding areas of Lahore.

 

The hospital is providing health care to over 618 indoor and about 14,344 outdoor patients per month. During the year 2015-16, 7,415 indoor and 1,67,178 outdoor patients and 4,949 patients in Mobile Health Clinics were treated. Since inception the hospital has provided health care services to over 2.08 million patients.
